Dorottya Szert-Szabó – the guide into the world of ancient spirits, folklore treasures, and mysterious forests

Dorottya studied visual communication and animation at MOME, graduated in 2010. She is also a qualified teacher, specialized in visual- and environmental culture. She started to illustrate children’s books when her first child was born, in 2016, and she has never stopped since then. She is fond of folklore, local cultures and traditions that are reflected in her artworks; creating a seamless fusion of old and new. She likes to apply folk symbols, and teach about ancient traditions, endangered species, and medicinal herbs through her illustrations. She is the founder of the brand Torzonborz, designing various merchandise with Dorottya’s illustrations – to have a piece of nature, a mysterious forest, and some humor for everyday life.
